A short guide to a pleasant shopping experience

Before you buy anything on this website, please read the following Terms and Conditions to check that they contain everything you want and nothing that you are not willing to agree to.

Introductions first! The legal owner of the online shop foibleware.com (hereinafter referred to as the shop, the online shop, we, us, and, in a few moments of troubling honesty, I) is OÜ Vaikelu (registry code 14069596), located at Tähe 86-1, Tartu, telephone +372 5366 4247, email info@vaikelu.ee. And within the framework of this document, you, the person choosing to purchase something from this website, will be referred to as buyer, you, sweetheart, buttercup etc (it should be pretty intuitive).

About the goods, their prices, and the process of making a purchase

Everything for sale in the shop has its price written next to it, nice and clear. Packaging and shipping ceramics is, alas, always a bit of an ordeal, so a delivery fee will be added to your order, unless you can come and pick it up at my studio in Tallinn (this is only possible at certain times and by prior arrangement). How much that fee is, depends on where you live and how you want your parcel to travel. You’ll see this cost before you pay.

The tactile nature of ceramics makes online shopping hard, but there are pictures! And descriptions! Everything sold in this shop is handmade, and we trust you not to expect straight lines and factory perfection.

How to place an order

To buy something, simply place it into the shopping cart, fill in the necessary details and choose how you want the goods delivered. Once you have done this, the total price should appear on the screen.

There are three ways to pay for your order:
– by bank transfer (based on the order confirmation sent to your email address)
– via a bank link – MontonoFinance OÜ’s service allows you to pay in the Swedbank, SEB, LHV, Luminor, COOP Bank, Citadele, Revolut, and N26 environments. Payment via a bank link takes place outside the online store in the secure environment of the respective bank. We do not have access to your bank details
– it is also possible to pay by card, Google Pay, and Apple Pay (also provided by Montonio).

The sale is officially concluded once the payment arrives in the shop’s bank account.

If fate intervenes and the item cannot be delivered, you will be informed promptly. Any money paid, including delivery costs, will be returned, usually within 1–2 working days, though banks may take up to seven working days to process the return payment.

Delivery

Our checkout currently has options for delivery to the following countries: Estonia, Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, and Sweden.

If you’d like the parcel sent somewhere else, you’re very welcome to get in touch and we’ll look into what the options and shipping costs are.

Delivery costs are paid by the buyer and clearly shown when you choose your delivery method.

Within Estonia: parcels usually arrive in 3-7 working days

Outside Estonia: delivery usually takes 4-20 calendar days

In rare and unusual circumstances (gremlins, acts of god, bureaucratic entanglements), delivery may take up to 45 calendar days. If we’ve warned you of a longer delivery time in advance, then that stated time applies.

The right to change your mind (within reason)

After receiving your order, you have 14 days to decide whether you really needed that ceramic Heffalump with an acorn tiara, or whether you have made a terrible mistake.

This right does not apply to:
– items made specially to your personal specifications (commissions, custom orders)
– digital goods
– purchases made by legal entities

You may examine the item as you would in a physical shop. If the item comes back worn or scratched, we will reduce the refund to reflect that.

To return something: Send us a letter within 14 days of making the purchase, with information of who you are, what you bought and when, and make clear your intent to return the item. We will then get back to you with instructions on where to return it. You should then send the item back to us within 14 days.

Return shipping costs are paid by the buyer—unless the item is wrong or defective, in which case it will be covered by us.

Once the item returns home, we’ll refund the purchase price (excluding delivery costs) within 14 days. We may wait to issue the refund until the item arrives or proof of posting is provided.

If you chose a more expensive delivery option than our standard one, we’ll refund only the standard delivery amount.

If an item was accidentally priced far lower than intended due to a clerical mishap, we reserve the right to cancel the order and request the item’s return.

If something isn’t quite right

Due to ceramics being a temperamental medium and the fact that everything sold on this website is handmade, small cracks, blisters and unevenness aren’t considered a defect unless they affect the functionality of the piece. I inspect every item carefully before packaging and sending it on its way, but mistakes can happen, so should there be a structural issue, please do not hesitate to let me know.

We are responsible for defects that existed at the time of delivery.

We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse, accidents, or the normal wear and tear of a well-lived life.

If a product is defective and it is our fault, we will replace it, or refund all costs if the former is impossible

We will respond to complaints within 15 days, in writing.

Disagreements

Unpleasant as it may be, disagreements occur. It is a fact of life like mouldy toast and empty milk bottles. Whatever the issue, problem, grievance – start off by sending an e-mail to info@vaikelu.ee, and we’ll take it from there.

If a complaint cannot be resolved by contacting us directly, the buyer may turn to the Consumer Disputes Committee, which reviews complaints free of charge and has the authority to settle such matters.

Buyers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform, should they wish to summon a higher authority.
